Everywhere I go, at home, with family, at school, with teachers, with classmates, even with friends, I wonder, why is it that we’re judged by the amount of work we put in? I’m not talking about emotional/spiritual work, I’m talking about real WORK like chores/get down on your knees type work or school-ish work.

me: oh, i'm such a good child. i don't smoke, i don't drink and i don't do drugs. i don't sneak out to go partying. my grades are quite good. when i compare myself to those in my class..wow, i'm almost a role model. my parents must be so proud of me!

So I’m talking to my uncle on the phone about college and my mother calls me from upstairs, telling me to come right now.
